Individual counseling provides an opportunity for you to talk with a professional about what is troubling you. We strive to help you to learn more about yourself and your situation in ways that will improve your ability to deal with your struggles. The Counseling Center operates from a short-term model of counseling, helping individuals understand and problem-solve stressful situations. Appointments typically last 45 minutes.

Play therapy is a form of treatment that helps children and families to express their emotions, improve their communication, and solve problems. Play therapy capitalizes on children’s natural ability to express their feelings and resolve conflicts through play. Play therapists use various media, including storytelling, puppet play, drama, music, dance, sand play, painting and drawing, and board games. Play therapy is most appropriate for children ages 4-12 years of age, or with families with children that age


As children become older, therapy may develop to include more conversation or discussion, or the use of art, poetry or drama as tools. These more expressive mediums can help teenagers process the often bigger than life feelings they often experience in their teen years.
